Margaret "Maggie" Laura Williamson Stovall
1859 - 1929
Margaret "Maggie" Laura Williamson was born November 16, 1859 in Rankin Co., MS. She was the daughter of Anslem Morgan Williamson and Felicia Ann Irby. She married Jeremiah Jackson Stovall in Winn Parish, LA on June 27, 1879. She died November 28, 1929.
Maggie and Jeremiah raised a large family who contributed and became pillars of the early pioneer communities of Dodson, Jonesboro and Winnfield.
They had the following twelve children:
Benjamin Morgan Stovall was born November 21, 1879; married Winford Viola "Minnie" Walker on December 10, 1902 and next married Bertha Mae Mixon after the death of Minnie. He died August 13, 1956 and is buried at Jonesboro City Cemetery with Minnie. He and Minnie had two sons.
William Lee Stovall was born February 1, 1881; married Grace King Meyers and died January 30, 1961. in Vallejo, CA. His obituary doesn't mention any survivng children.
Anna Alma Stovall was born July 29, 1882; married Dr. Hugh Angus Smith, M.D. on April 25, 1900; next married Dr. James Franklin Faith, M.D. on December 22, 1912. Alma died March 24, 1967 and is buried with Dr. Faith in Winnfield City Cemetery. She had seven children, two with Dr. Smith and five with Dr. Faith.
Logan Jackson Stovall was born March 1, 1884; married Thomas "Tommie" Marilla Hagler on April 16, 1905 and died March 20, 1969. Logan and Tommie had six children.
Robert Luther Stovall was born February 22, 1886; married Thera Mattie Nicholson, daughter of Col. James William Nicholson and Sally Baker on February 2, 1910. Thera's father was a world renouned mathmatician and former President of both LSU and Tulane. Robert died January 10, 1949. He and Thera had four children.
Rawson Fisher Stovall was born August 23, 1887; married Della Fisher and died April 29, 1940. Rawson and Della had eight children.
George Poner Stovall was born November 14, 1888 and died at the age of 2 on January 9, 1891.
Dr. Simon David Stovall, DVM (WWI Vet) was born January 1, 1891; married Gladys Woodlief Caviness on July 22, 1925 and died February 6, 1959 in San Mateo Co., CA. Simon and Gladys are both buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA. Simon and Gladys had three children.
Dr. Henry Foster Stovall, DVM (WWI Vet) was born September 29, 1892; married Blanche Madden on July 27, 1926 and died August 12, 1946. He is buried in Jonesboro City Cemetery. He and Blanche had two daughters.
Clara Rose Stovall was born April 25, 1894; married Ed Daniel "Dan" Boon on August 21, 1910 and died September 9, 1944. She and Dan are buried in Leesville Cemetery in Vernon Parish, LA. They had one daughter.
Juanita Gladys "Nita" Stovall was born January 14, 1897; married Malcolm Dudley Nicholson, brother of Thera (Robert Luther's wife) on June 6, 1916 and died June 16, 1992 in Baton Rouge, LA. Malcolm and Nita had three children.
John Conley Stovall was born May 7, 1898; married Cora Jane Farmer on August 15, 1935 in Odessa, TX and died January of 1979 in Kermit, TX. (no info on children for he and his wife at this time)

Mrs. M. Stovall Dies After Three Months Illness
Mrs. J. F. Faith Is One Of Eleven Surviving Children
Mrs. Maggie Williamson Stovall, age 70 years, died at her home at Dodson, Thursday morning, Nov. 28, 1929, after having been ill for several months and at the point of death for three weeks.
Mrs. Stovall was reared in Mississippi, and came to Louisiana at the age of 18. She was married to J. J. Stovall Jan. 27, 1879, Mr. Stovall having died in 1910. Of twelve children, eleven survive the deceased. They are Mrs. J. F. Faith, Winnfield; Mrs. E. D. Boone, Leesville, Mrs. M. D. Nicholson, Dodson; B. M. Stovall, ?. ?. Stovall, R. L. Stovall, S. D. Stovall, H. F. Stovall, all of Dodson; ?. L. Stovall, Corsicana, Tex.; J. C. Stovall, Wink, Tex.; R. F. Stovall, Baton Rouge.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church by the Rev. Humphrey of Hodge. Interment was in the Transport Cemetery.
Besides the members of the immediate family other out of town relativs and friends who attended the funeral were: Mesdames W. S. Stovall and W. W. Johnston of Shreveport; Mrs. Daniels, Leesville; Mrs. Floyd Foster, New Albany, Miss.; Mrs. Eugene Warren, Mrs. W. W. Perkins, Miss Louella Perkins, and Mrs. Mallie Perkins, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Walker of Ruston; Robert and Morgan Walker of Alexandria.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Stovall Held Last Friday
Interment in Transport Cemetery; The Rev. Humphries Officiating
Funeral services for Mrs. J. J. Stovall, who died at her home in Dodson last Thursday, were held at the Dodson Methodist Church Friday. Interment was in the Transport Cemetery, six miles north of Dodson. The Rev. Humphries, Methodist minister ofHodge, officiated. Mrs. Stovall died after a serious illness of eight weeks. She had been in ill health for some time.
Mrs. Stovall was 70 years old November 16, 1929. She was a native of Mississippi, having come to Winnfield at the age of eighteen. January 27, 1879 she was married to J. J. Stovall in Winnfield. They became residents of Dodson in 1902. They were the parents of twelve children, eleven of whom survive. Mr. Stovall died in the year 1910.
Following are the surviving children: B. M. Stovall, Dodson; W. L. Stovall, Corsicana, Texas; L. J. Stovall, Dodson; R. L. Stovall, Dodson; R. F. Stovall, Baton Rouge; S. D. Stovall, Dodson; H. F. Stovall, Dodson; J. C. Stovall, Wink, Texas; Mrs. J. F. Faith, Winnfield; Mrs. E. D. Boone, Leesville; and Mrs. M. D. Nicholson, Dodson.
Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral services were Mrs. Daniels, Leesville; Mrs. Flody Foster, New Albany, Miss.; Mrs. W. S. Johnston and Mrs. W. W. Johnston, Shreveport; Mrs. Eugene Warren, Mrs. W. W. Perkins, Miss Lou Ella Warren, Mr. Mallie Perkins, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Walker, Ruston; W. G. Walker, Bob Walker, and Morgan Walker, Alexandria.
