Annual Meeting, Cemetery Cleanup
& Family Picnic
It has been a tradition dating back to the turn of the century that families with loved ones buried at Transport meet at the Cemetery the Saturday before Memorial Day to clean the cemetery. They would make an all day event of it bringing food and sharing in a pot luck lunch.
Although the Association and the funds donated to it, now take care of maintenance and cleanup of the Cemetery, the tradition to meet has continued. They use the day to hold their annual meeting and enjoy the fellowship of other members and their families in a pot luck luncheon following the annual meeting.
2008 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, at 10:30 A.M. at Transport Cemetery - followed by the pot luck luncheon.
2009 - Special Board Meeting is scheduled for March 3, at 1:30 P.M. at the Law Office of Culpepper & Carrol, 525 East Court Avenue, Jonesboro, LA (phone 318-259-4184)
